Meet Eva Lindsell of Lindsell Interiors: Luxury Interior Designer Greenville SC – A Candid Q&A on Timeless, Livable Design

Hello, I’m Eva Lindsell Andersen, founder of Lindsell Interiors — a multi-disciplinary luxury interior design firm based in Greenville, South Carolina. Whether guiding large-scale interior renovations, new builds, or full-scope furnishing and styling projects, my work is rooted in creating architecturally informed interiors that feel both enduring and deeply personal.

From legacy lake houses on Lake George to modern farmhouse renovations in Saratoga Springs, New York and high-end family homes throughout the Southeast, every project begins with the same guiding principle: honor the home itself and the people who live in it.

In this candid Q&A, I share my journey, design philosophy, and what inspires the timeless, livable spaces I create for discerning clients. I also open up about my personal wellness rituals, my love of hosting, and the Europe trip I’m planning this summer.

Q1: Your journey Can you tell us a little about your path to founding Lindsell Interiors and what continues to inspire you as a luxury interior designer rooted in Greenville SC (and on projects from coast to coast)?

Like many, the lockdown during COVID became the impetus for a big move. Born and bred in New England, my family later settled in Augusta, Georgia, where I attended high school. I studied in Chicago, then returned to Boston after graduation, where I joined a renowned Kitchen and bath firm in the suburbs and honed my craft designing kitchens and bathrooms and beyond for premier clients.

A few years later we relocated to Saratoga Springs, New York — a place I still hold dear. As a passionate horse girl, I loved the vibrant arts scene, fresh local foods, and timeless charm of the area, but the brutal winters finally nudged us south again. I chose Greenville because it’s close to my parents and offers the perfect blend of community, energy, and proximity to design centers in Atlanta and Charlotte.

When I arrived, I launched Lindsell Interiors, and I haven’t looked back. What continues to inspire me is the same thing that drew me to this work in the first place: the opportunity to create homes that are both architecturally informed and deeply reflective of the people who live in them.

Q2: Design philosophy What is the guiding ethos behind your work — the principles that make every Lindsell Interiors project feel both architecturally informed and deeply personal?

I stay true to two things: the home itself and its owners. I have a deep appreciation for historical architecture and believe every decision should respect the framework of the house. At the same time, your home is a reflection of you — how you live and move, what you value, and the stories you carry from your travels and life experiences.

My projects are never “one palette fits all.” Clients choose Lindsell Interiors because I’m honest about what will work and what won’t, yet my role is always to inform, educate, and guide. Together we curate layered, legacy-driven spaces that feel beautifully and authentically like you.

Q3: Signature approach How do you approach large-scale interior renovations, new builds, custom millwork, and full-scope furnishing for discerning clients who want homes that are timeless yet livable?

We begin with a comprehensive client questionnaire that helps us truly understand how our clients want to live in their space. From there, we have an open conversation about investment so that the vision we create is both inspiring and realistic.

Once we’ve discussed needs versus wants, we move into vision boards to establish the overall feeling of each room, then into detailed drawings and precise specifications. This thoughtful process — combined with my construction background — ensures seamless design-to-installation experiences, whether we’re executing custom millwork, kitchen and bath design, or a whole-home remodel.

Q4: Wellness connection Your personal wellness rituals (red-light therapy, sauna, gym workouts) are well-known in your circle. How does that daily commitment to vitality shape the private home sanctuaries and wellness-focused spaces you design?

We’re living in an extraordinary time when we have the knowledge and tools to create not only healthy lifestyles but truly healthy homes. I stay current with the latest research — from the effects of LED lighting and EMFs to the powerful benefits of thoughtful material choices.

While I’m not exclusively a holistic designer, I gently guide clients toward the healthiest decisions possible for their families. Whether integrating wellness rooms, optimizing natural light, or selecting finishes that support well-being, I believe a home should nurture both body and spirit.

Q5: Hosting & entertaining You’re known for creating memorable gatherings. What role does entertaining-centric design play in your projects, and can you share a favorite hosting moment that reflects your style?

I’ve always loved hosting. In high school my friends nicknamed me “Martha,” and I worked for a caterer and florist. (I briefly considered wedding planning but decided I’d rather keep my weekends!)

One of my most memorable moments came during the Masters tournament in Augusta. I had the privilege of designing the dining tent for a national banking client. Fresh flowers arrived daily, tablescapes changed with each gathering, and on Easter Sunday I brought in live bunnies and chicks nestled in beautiful baskets. The clients were delighted — it was pure joy and exactly the kind of immersive, personal touch I love bringing to entertaining-centric homes.

Q6: Travel & inspiration You have an exciting Europe trip planned this summer. How do your travels influence the layered, legacy-driven interiors you create for clients?

Travel is one of my greatest sources of inspiration. I’m constantly snapping photos of details — terrazzo floors in Venice, elegant doorways in Paris, rich wood paneling in London — that later find their way into client projects.

Europe reminds me that good design doesn’t need to be oversized; it needs to be well thought-out and functional. Many of my clients travel frequently, and I love weaving their own collected treasures and memories into their homes. Those personal layers are what turn a beautiful space into a memorable reflection of their owners’ lives.

Quick-Fire Favorites with Eva Lindsell

Current favorite color palette? Blue has always been my constant, but purple — from deep eggplant to soft lavender — is having a luminous moment right now. Done right, it feels both timeless and incredibly comfortable.

Go-to material or finish you always come back to? Walnut. It crosses so many eras, ages beautifully, and I’m quite sure I’ll never tire of it.

Most treasured design element or piece in your own home? Pieces from my grandparents — my maternal grandmother’s mid-century dining set from Denmark and my Nana’s Victorian rocking chair that once rocked my father and aunts.

Dream project or home style right now? I just completed a large contemporary home that was my favorite project to date. After two years immersed in clean lines, I’m craving antiques and traditional patterns!

Favorite European city or detail for design inspiration (or one you’re most excited about this summer)? I can’t pick just one city, but I’m returning to two I love — London and Paris. This time I hope to explore Oxford, Cambridge, and the Cotswolds. Spencer House remains a favorite. In Paris, I’m looking forward to visiting Versailles and Musee Rodin for the first time.

Signature scent, candle, or sensory detail you love in a space? I’m a vanilla girl at heart, but my favorite candle is the Baron from 1889 Wax Lighting — a beautiful blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, clove, cedar, patchouli, and vanilla.

One design trend you’re currently loving? The return to color! I appreciate a good neutral, but I live for rooms that feel alive and expressive.

One design trend you hope quietly disappears? Honestly, I wish trends would disappear. Let’s design rooms and homes we love because we love them — not because Instagram told us to.

Non-negotiable morning wellness ritual (besides red light / sauna / gym)? Walking my dogs and reading my Bible.

Favorite thing you love to cook or serve when hosting? My aunt Linda’s chocolate chip cookies are the most requested item on the menu. I also love grilling steak, lamb, or chicken with fresh vegetables and a big salad — followed, of course, by a naughty dessert.
