My Personal Connection to Verbier My brother-in-law has an office in nearby Martigny, and his company regularly rents chalets while he’s working there. That connection gave me the perfect excuse to experience Verbier firsthand — and I’ve been hooked ever since. The Winter Ski Experience Verbier is legendary for its off-piste skiing — a dream for extreme skiers. But even if you prefer a more leisurely pace like I do, the 4 Vallées area offers an incredible variety of runs for every level, all set against absolutely breathtaking views. The terrain is vast, the snow is reliable, and the experience feels both exhilarating and deeply restorative.
Après-Ski & Village Vibes Verbier has such a special vibe in winter. The warm wooden chalets, sweeping mountain views, and that crisp, clear air are pure magic. The energy is lively yet sophisticated — incredible restaurants offering everything from Mexican to classic French to traditional Swiss fondue, plus fantastic cheeseburgers, pastries, and cheeses. Clubbing is huge (I’m still not sure when people sleep!), but the overall atmosphere feels welcoming and joyful.
Luxury Stays & Dining The W Verbier sits right at the base of the mountain, steps from the main gondola — the perfect spot for its excellent spa and convenience. Mountain Air is my go-to one-stop shop for street clothes and gear rental. This year I finally invested in custom boots there, and the owner’s fitting completely transformed my skiing comfort — I only wish I’d done it years earlier!
Design & Lifestyle Inspiration What draws me in most as a luxury interior designer are the beautiful contrasts: traditional Swiss style with warm blonde woods, delicate heart-cut shutters, and floral prints alongside clean Scandi-modern mountain homes. The mix of cozy textures, stone, fireplaces, and thoughtful scale is endlessly inspiring.

Practical Tips for Discerning Travelers The easiest way to arrive is to fly into Geneva, then take the scenic train journey (it winds around Lac Léman and up through the Alps) before catching the final gondola into Verbier. For a seamless transfer, I highly recommend Tesla Transfers.
Best time to visit in winter? Mid-January through early March offers excellent snow and fewer crowds than peak holiday weeks. Private chalets are best booked well in advance through reputable agencies — they truly elevate the experience for UHNW families and groups.
A Note on Summer Even though I haven’t yet visited in summer, I’m dying to return for the hiking trails and the famous cows grazing in the meadows. Verbier feels so comfortable and friendly that it’s the kind of place you want to experience year after year, no matter the season.
