This custom new build in Saratoga Springs, New York, brings traditional design to life through the lens of personal storytelling and craftsmanship. Built within walking distance to downtown, the home was created for a couple entering a new life chapter as their daughters graduated college. Lindsell Interiors collaborated with the homeowners to create a residence that feels rooted in history yet rich with individuality. From a custom kitchen island made from antique doors to a repurposed sunroom mantel, every detail reflects a collected, intentional design philosophy. The wife, an artist, infused her creative touch throughout the home, including a studio space above the garage designed for painting and quiet work.
Classic architectural elements—such as coffered ceilings, custom moldings, and antique hardware—are paired with bold color choices and curated patterns that offer warmth and depth. The TV in the living room is framed by vintage cremone-bolt glass doors sourced during the client’s antiquing trips. Rather than adhering to a singular aesthetic, the design embraces contrast and character. This home is a celebration of layered living and timeless tradition, elevated through artistic expression and refined detail. It’s a standout example of how luxury interior design can be highly personal while remaining architecturally grounded.

This 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath farmhouse balances tradition with artistry. From the custom kitchen island crafted by the owner's father using antique doors to the living room TV framed by repurposed antique glass doors with cremone bolts, the home is filled with thoughtful details that tell a story. A studio above the garage serves as a creative sanctuary, while the screen porch mantel and other elements repurposed from the wife’s antiquing adventures add warmth and historical charm.
